About The Institute

Koottalumoodu Arulmigu Bhadreswari Devasthanam Educational Service Society was launched in the year 1985. This Society has been formed by the managing trustees of the famous temple in Kanyakumari District of Tamil Nadu, India, “Koottalumoodu Arulmigu Bhadreswari Devasthanam”.

This temple stands aloft surrounded by huge cluster of banyan trees symbolizing the very name of the place; that is “Koottalumoodu”. This means cluster of “Banyan Trees”. Goddess Bhadreswari is the presiding deity of this Devasthanam (divine place). It is located 10 kilometers away from Marthandam town. The society has been started with the aim of imparting quality education to the under privileged of the area. The society runs one Matriculation Higher Secondary School with full strength of pupils far and near, mostly backward classes and below poverty line are receiving quality education. The Society runs a craft and Tailoring unit for the uplift of the downtrodden women of the village. It also runs an orphanage for boys from the age group 5-12

The warmth and acceptance received for our services inspired us to expand our programme by starting a college of education in the name of “Koottalumoodu Arulmigu Bhadreswari Devasthanam College of Education” from 2008-2009 academic year onwards. From the very beginning our organizers have been taking pains to set right all the norms and prerequisites as required and stipulated by the Government of Tamil Nadu , University and NCTE Bangalore to maintain quality teacher education for our beneficiaries.
